Concept

Primal Wine is an online wine store based in Los Angeles. It ships to 45 US states.

It started as a passion project to bring honest, natural, biodynamic and organic wine to every corner of the country, especially the places where it has been hardest to find.

The range runs from classic, appellation-driven wines to zero-zero wines, made with no additives and no added sulfites. The wines come from small growers who farm organically or biodynamically, and I choose every one of them. I hold a FISAR sommelier diploma.

The Primal Wine Club sends members boxes of 3, 6 or 12 bottles that I pick.

History

  1. Launched in Los Angeles. Before that I was a wine rep for an Italian importer and ran its online store. I taught myself to code and built the Primal Wine site.
  2. USA Today 10Best readers placed the Primal Wine Club among the 10 best wine clubs in the country.
  3. Opened Primal Wine UK, a second store for customers in the United Kingdom, at primalwine.co.uk.
  4. Moved shipping to a wine warehouse in Napa, California.
  5. Moved fulfillment to a warehouse in Rancho Dominguez, California, which ships every order today.
